About the novel

UK's supermarkets and celebrity chefs are under attack from a militant group. The whole fabric of the world in which they operate in is being forced towards collapse. London is gripped by fear as the militant group attacks indiscriminately. Can the celebrity chefs still inspire our culinary dreams as the attacks intensify before their empires crumble? Inspector Borage is tasked with apprehending the group under increasing media pressure. Even with all the resources of the Metropolitan police available to him he seems to be thwarted at every turn. The militant group have a passion and the desire to expose the daily manipulation forced upon supermarket customers. Will their efforts be wasted as the public deem them terrorists or see them as rebels to the cause?  It's trial by media, and the jury is still out.  Supermarkets, the heart and soul of our society are being asked to defend their actions. This is a book of power, greed, corruption, love and maybe if you are lucky, the odd lamb cutlet. The British public will never look at supermarkets in the same way again.

​But how much power does that give them over their customers and their suppliers?

They are driven to action in the face of despair at the UK's disappearing High Streets.

​What happened to our butchers, flower shops, sweet shops, fruit sellers, ironmongers, fishmongers and the delicatessens?

At last someone is strong enough to have a voice and take action. They will stop at nothing until  they are heard!

Chefs

They are the gods of our kitchen world, showing us how we can make a simple dish into a culinary masterpiece. Guiding and influencing what we cook and the ingredients we buy.

​But in reality, who is it really for?

General Public

Like sheep and cattle they are led by the nose. In a search for an easier life they have allowed others to take control.

​The public's eyes are blinkered as they are told what is good, what they must purchase, what is the accepted shape of a parsnip and then normally forced to buy in a quantity that they do not even need. How did we become so weak?
